Cooling Water Treatment
Cooling lops or circuits are used in many different industrial facilities throughout the world. The cooling water in each circuit requires treatment. Here, two main requirements are given: The use of cooling water should be minimized and protection of the entire cooling system from corrosion, sediments and biological growth should be increased. ProMinent offers solutions to these needs.
Requirements
Two main requirements are given to operate cooling towers as efficiently as possible:
- Reduction of cooling water consumption
- Protection of the entire generator system against corrosion, sediments and biological growth
These two requirements are, however, contradictory. Fresh makeup water consumption can be minimized by increasing the thixotropy in the circuit water with a conductivity control device. However, the Cycles of concentration increase so that components of the cooling tower, the chiller and the pipings are strongly affected.

The protection of the Cooling System can be ensured with the metering of inhibitors and biocides as well as the use of filters.
