Helping our Community
As a group, ProMinent Canada voted to select Ronald McDonald House Charities as our charitable organization for our 2019 fundraising efforts. Participating in efforts that better our community is something that is very important to the ProMinent Canada group, and we are excited about our ideas to raise donations this year!
A little about the Ronald McDonald House Charities...
Did you know?
70% of Canadian families live outside of a city that has a children's hospital, which means that they have to travel hours to get treatment when a child gets sick. Even in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge or Guelph, it is at least a 30-40 minute drive to the nearest children's hospital in Hamilton. Some families are only there for a night, others spend months there - away from their homes, but close to their sick child. They miss holiday celebrations and birthdays and often have to take leave from their jobs making a huge financial impact.
Ronald McDonald Houses provide the families of sick children with a home to stay at while their child is being treated at a nearby hospital. There are also Ronald McDonald Family Rooms that provide a comfortable place from families to rest and recharge right inside hospitals. Furthermore, Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles help bring basic medical care to vulnerable communities. The main goal is helping families stay together and kids heal better. We encourage you to start a conversation with your friends and family ... you will quickly discover how many people in your life have benefited, or know someon ewho has, from the RMHC.
Where are they located?
Ronald McDonald Houses , Family Rooms and Mobile Care units can be found throughout Canada! This includes locations close to our ProMinent offices - Southern Ontario (Hamilton, ON); Calgary, AB; and Montreal, QC.
How will ProMinent be helping?
We kicked off our fundraising efforts with some events in February and March with Valentines Cookie-Grams and All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Tuesday. We also raffled off an Easter Springtime Gift Basket and continue to collect empty bottles. We have more events coming up and are excited to support such a great cause!
