Flocculation in Public Swimming Pools
Metering flocculants delivers optimum filtration
Flocculants allow the smallest of particles to be removed from the swimming pool water. In turn, our high-precision solenoid metering pumps enable the precise and continuous supply of small volumes of these flocculants.
Requirements in this application
Accurate metering counts
The metering of flocculants is an effective aid to the treatment of swimming pool water. This is a combined chemical and physical-technical process, which enables the filtration of tiny colloidal particles (< 1 µm) with a negative charge. The positively charged flocculant attracts these particles and macroflocs form, which can then be filtered, allowing undesired substances to be removed from the water circuit. To minimise chemical consumption, the metering systems used can be switched off at night if the water values are OK.
One crucial factor for flocculation is the constant and accurate metering of small volumes of flocculant. As a pioneer of solenoid metering pumps, ProMinent's product ranges can be used to accurately set a minimum metering volume using stroke length and metering frequency.
Alternatively, you can use our special peristaltic pump This is how they work: The feed chemical is pumped by the rotor clamping the hose ... more in the glossary DF4a with CAN bus control to steplessly control flocculant metering. This way you reliably supply the desired volume to your water treatment system at all times.
